Portrait Sitting
A portrait is not made in haste.
Each sitting begins quietly. Guests are welcomed into the studio space to settle, often with tea and conversation, before the camera is introduced. The aim is to create a calm moment where the noise of daily life falls away and the individual can simply be present.
Working with simple light and minimal direction, Forrest creates portraits that focus on stillness and authenticity rather than performance. The process is unhurried, allowing expression to emerge naturally.
Most sittings last around 45–60 minutes, though the portrait itself may take only a short moment.
After the session, a small selection of images is prepared for private viewing, where the final portraits are chosen.
